- Timing: These events, occurring when Xcel Energy draws from your battery, typically happen during high-demand periods that strain the electric grid.
- Most Common Occurrences: They are most common during the afternoons and evenings of the hottest days of the year, but could happen at any time.
- Duration: Each event lasts for a maximum of three hours.
- Battery Reserve: Always leaves 40% of the battery’s power remaining at the end.
How Much Is the 2025 Xcel Solar Rebate?
The exact amount the Xcel solar rebate in 2025 pays out varies, but the maximum rebate is $5,000 per applicant or $350 per kW, depending on the installation. However, Xcel Energy has a budget of $6.8 million for this program, so once it’s maxed out, it’s no longer available. This amount translates to approximately 23.4 MW of applications.
For program participation, there’s a $100 payment per year for five years. The rebate for a single Powerwall 3 is $4,025. You may also be reimbursed for a second Powerwall 3 at about $975. However, the rebate does not cover the Tesla Expansion Pack. If you install a Tesla Powerwall 3 and the Expansion Pack, you qualify for $4,025.
How to Apply for Xcel’s Rebate
