3CE Rebates

New rebate amounts effective April 1, 2026
Central Coast residents can take advantage of several rebates offered by Central Coast Community Energy (3CE), the local electricity provider serving many PG&E and SCE customers on the Central Coast. Most households were automatically enrolled in 3CE. These rebates help reduce the cost of installing home batteries and EV chargers.
Rebates currently offer up to $6,000 for home battery storage and up to $2,000 for an EV charger and installation. If you are a 3CE customer, you may qualify.
Current rebates:
- Residential Battery Rebate | $2,700 — $6,000
- EV Charger Rebate | $2,000
1) Residential Battery Rebate Program
3CE offers rebates for installing home battery storage through its Residential Battery Rebate Program. The rebate amount is based on battery capacity and whether the homeowner qualifies for income-based programs such as CARE, FERA, or Medical Baseline.
The current rebate provides $200 per kWh for standard customers and $400 per kWh for CARE, FERA, or Medical Baseline customers, with incentives capped at 15 kWh per home.
This means a Tesla Powerwall 3 (13.5 kWh) qualifies for the following rebate amounts:

- One battery | $2,700
- Two batteries | $3,000
- CARE, FERA or Medical Baseline Customers | $400 per kWh | 15 kWh max
- One battery | $5,400
- Two batteries | $6,000
Homes installing two batteries can still receive a rebate, but incentives are capped at 15 kWh, which is why the rebate increases only slightly when installing a second battery.
To qualify for the rebate, customers must allow the battery to discharge at least 50% of its capacity during peak hours (4pm – 9pm) to support grid demand. Customers must also enroll in 3CE’s battery load-shifting program.
Homeowners who currently have solar under NEM 1.0 or 2.0 may still qualify, but they must transition to the Solar Billing Plan (Net Billing Tariff) to receive the rebate.

Program participants are also enrolled in 3CE’s Virtual Power Plant, allowing home batteries to help support the electric grid during periods of high demand. Customers are compensated for participating when their battery helps supply energy back to the grid.
2) Electrify Your Ride
Receive up to $2,000 back for a Level 2 charger and installation with 3CE’s Electrify Your Ride Program. This rebate does not require you to currently own an EV but allows you to be “Electrification Ready” for a future purchase. The Level 2 charger is a Tesla Universal Wall Connector that is compatible with all electric vehicles.
Rebate Amount:
- Level 2 Charger + Installation and Wiring (including up to 50 feet of conduit run): $2,000
- If you are enrolled in CARE or FERA: $2,400

Central Coast Community Energy is a co-op on the Central Coast through PG&E and SCE where most homeowners were automatically enrolled. Read our blog to learn how 3CE works.
Where to look on your PG&E bill
The first page of your PG&E bill will state if your home is part of the Central Coast Community Energy program.
Where to look on your SCE bill
The Central Coast Community Energy program will have a dedicated page on your SCE bill, typically toward the end of the your monthly statement.
San Luis Obispo county:
All areas of San Luis Obispo county are currently enrolled in 3CE.
Santa Barbara county:
Lompoc and the city of Santa Barbara are not currently enrolled in 3CE and unfortunately will not be eligible for 3CE rebates. All other areas within the county are eligible.
Monterey county:
King City is not currently enrolled in 3CE and unfortunately will not be eligible for 3CE rebates. All other areas within the county are eligible however there may be additional travel costs associated.
There are additional low-income qualifications that could receive a higher rebate, please check your eligibility and let one of our team members know if you qualify.

Rebate approval and rebate payout can take anywhere from 30 to 90 days for the EV charger rebate and nine to 12 months for the battery rebate.
