Why We Ask for Your Utility Data

Why This Information Matters
To properly evaluate your solar and battery needs, we need more than just your monthly electric bill. Access to your utility usage data gives our team a more detailed picture of how your home uses electricity and helps us prepare for your consultation.
We’ll send you a request to authorize access to this information. The process only takes a few minutes, and you won’t need to find, download or email any usage files yourself.

What to Expect
After we request your utility data, you’ll receive an email with a link to securely connect your utility account.
Look for an email like this:

How to Authorize Access
The authorization form will ask you to select your utility and enter the username and password you normally use to sign in to your utility account online.
Once your information is entered, select Authorize Access.

Why Am I Being Asked for My Utility Login?
We understand why you may hesitate to enter your utility username and password.
Your login information is needed to securely connect to your utility account and retrieve your energy usage data. The connection is made through UtilityAPI, the service used to access this information on your behalf.
UtilityAPI encrypts your username and password and does not share your login credentials with Photon Brothers. Photon Brothers receives the utility usage data you authorize UtilityAPI to share with us, not your username or password.
What Happens Next
Once you authorize access, you’re all set. We’ll retrieve the usage information we need and review it as we prepare for your consultation.
There’s nothing else you need to download or send us.
